Water Action Day
We had a great water action day. We had lots of different activities on the day. We wore something blue to school, danced to a water dance, and designed our very own "Save Water" posters.
We experimented with water by making a skittles rainbow and a lava lamp. We also went on a walk outside looking for signs of water. We finished our day by listening to a story "The Snail and the Whale".

Happy Halloween
We had a very happy Halloween in 1st class. We dressed up and went trick or treating around the school. Well done to everybody for a superb effort with costumes. It was a fantastic finish to a great first half term.

Hot Chocolate
We made hot chocolate for a procedural writing lesson. We recorded the instructions for making a delicious hot chocolate drink. This was our tastiest English lesson yet!
Sponsored Walk
Planting Popcorn
We planted popcorn kernels. Firstly, we designed our own planting cups. We then planted the kernels in soil, added a dash of water and put them sitting on the window to get lots of sunshine. Look how well they grew!
Story Time
We love listening to the teacher reading stories. When the weather is good we use our outdoor classroom for story time.

Mad About Math!
We love math here in 1st class. We use counters and concrete materials to reinforce our learning. Using these materials helps us to understand what is happening and enables us to be super sum sleuths!

Nature Hunt
We went on a nature hunt. We were looking for signs of nature and early signs of Autumn. We found lots of interesting things along the way. We drew pictures of the things we found. We will do another nature walk at the end of Autumn to observe the changes that occur during the season.

Our Outdoor Classroom
We love using our outdoor classroom. We conducted an experiment using eggs and vinegar. We were experimenting to see if we could make an egg that would bounce instead of break! We can not wait to test the egg and see what happens.
