Making boats!

We have been learning about different modes of transport this week. We worked in groups to design and make boats using plastic cups, pips cleaners, cork screws and elastic bands. We made sure our boats floated. We had great fun :)

Dress up day for halloween!

Halloween pumpkins

This week we have been learning about the Life Cycle of a Pumpkin. We cut open pumpkins and looked at the seeds inside. We cleaned them out and carved them! It was a lot of fun!!

We have been learning all about Autumn and trees. We went on a nature walk and collected leaves for our Nature Table. We traced our arms and hands for the trunk and branches of the tree and used cotton buds to create the leaves.

Elmer the patchWORK ELEPHANT!

We read the story 'Elmer the Patchwork Elephant' and talked about how we are all unique. We shared our talents with the class. We experimented with red, blue, yellow and white paint to create our elephants. We had a lot of fun!! 

We love reading!

In First Class we know how important reading is! We really enjoy reading books in the library area in our classroom.
